This study was born out of a strong desire to help YOU know your immense worth and value. To help you discover identity, confidence, and purpose. Really, it was forged in the fire of a deeply personal and difficult season of my life, which included loneliness and a cult...yep, I said cult!  Let's go there...

When I was in college, I felt lonely and yearned for a sense of belonging and connection. Because of this, when a group of young women on campus invited me to a bible study and eventually weekly discipleship groups, I was blinded to the fact that they had begun systematically dismantling my faith and my identity in Christ. They used pressure tactics to force me to conform to their members...it was a cult! They wanted to tell me who to date, how to live, how to spend my money, where to work, where to live... to control every aspect of my life basically. They did this by distorting God's truth in the bible and setting themselves up as the middleman between God and me. I didn't see this brainwashing happening because I was so desperate to be accepted and to belong, and I had forgotten my identity in Christ. Thankfully, God divinely appointed my amazing family, devoted boyfriend (now husband), and other important people in my life to open my eyes and miraculously save me from this dangerous situation. I don't know where I'd be today without God.

Well, I do know where I AM today because of God! Life definitely isn't perfect, but I KNOW who I am in Christ, and I know God loves me and works out everything for my good (Romans 8:28).  

Through this, I truly learned how important it is to find our identity in Christ ALONE. Finding our identity in anything else will only let us down. I also learned that we can go directly to God with anything because He loves us so much and provides everything we need for all of life.

I wrote this study for YOU, sister! My hope is that on your ARISE journey, you will either discover or be reaffirmed in your identity in Christ, grow in unshakeable confidence, and walk in the unstoppable purpose that God has given to you!
